Federal prosecutors in new York leads the investigation against the former lawyer of the President of trump Michael Cohen on suspicion of tax fraud, said Tuesday the newspaper the Wall Street Journal, citing close to the deal sources.

Cohen, who previously was the personal attorney trump has not filed any charges. The FBI seized a number of documents and other materials as part of the investigation, Federal prosecutors in new York, which was started on the recommendation of spectacular Robert Mueller in charge of the investigation on the Russian intervention in the elections.

Moscow denies its involvement, but trump insists that collusion between Russia and his campaign staff were not, calling the investigation a “witch hunt”.

Cohen has not commented about the reports maintained in its relation to the investigation.
