The OSCE mission has recorded damages of the temple in the Donetsk region
Moscow. August 30. INTERFAX – Monitoring mission of the OSCE recorded the damage of the Pokrovsky Cathedral in the village Staromykhailivka the Maryinsky region of Donetsk region.
“On August 26 in Staromykhailivka members of the patrol mission saw a fresh crater in the yard, about 20 metres West of the Church on Kalinin street, 7 and four meters South of the Church adjacent to the single-storey building (…) fresh holes in the outer West wall of the Church”, – is spoken in the report of special monitoring mission of the OSCE, as quoted by the official website of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Observers also recorded that in the one-story house, located in the Pokrovsky temple, knocked out three Windows on the door of the house visible on the fresh shrapnel damage.
Church of the Holy virgin in Staromykhailivka more than a century. The first Liturgy was celebrated here on October 14, 1911. The Church survived the years of Bolshevik reprisals, the bombing of the Second world war, the Khrushchev persecution to the present time remained intact, despite the fact that Staromykhailivka is one of the villages most affected by the armed conflict of recent years.
