The head of National intelligence: the November Congressional elections are under threat
Director of National intelligence Dan Coates said Tuesday that he remains concerned about coming from several countries cyberthreats upcoming Congressional elections. The specific countries that are sources of cyber threats, Coates not named.
Speaking at the Summit on issues of intelligence and national security, held in Maryland, Coates said that the elections that will be held in November this year, are under threat. According to him, the same applies to the presidential election of 2020, as well as to subsequent elections.
“Our interconnectedness makes it easier for our opponents the use of subversive information operations in order to sow discord and undermine our democracy and our values, as we have seen coming from abroad efforts by Russia and other (countries) – explained by Dan Coates.
