Switzerland has stopped the registration of new Mercedes-Benz and Porsche with diesel engines
The Swiss government has forbidden to register new minivan Mercedes-Benz Vito, as well as crossovers Porsche Macan and Cayenne, imported after August 17, 2018.
The reason for the ban was the inconsistency of the diesel engines of these models with existing environmental regulations. As writes Automotive News, the ban minivans Mercedes-Benz Vito c 1.6-liter engines, as well as the crossover Porsche Macan with “volkswagenwerk” 3.0-liter V6 TDI and a Cayenne with a 4.2-liter “diesel”. According to the publication prohibition does not apply to already registered vehicles that can be used by the owners and forth, but only after modification.
As reported in the Daimler, export Mercedes-Benz Vito was discontinued after may of this year, German authorities ordered to recall minivans to address deficiencies and to terminate their registration. 24 of these cars were supposed to go to Switzerland.
