The representative of the US state Department will discuss the Ukraine the issue of religious freedom

Moscow. September 11. INTERFAX – the U.S. Ambassador for international religious freedom Sam Brownback this week will meet with Ukrainian authorities and religious leaders, said on Monday the website of the us state Department.

It is noted that during the meetings will discuss “efforts to protect and promote religious freedom.”

As reported, in may this year, the state Department expressed concern about the intervention of the authorities of Ukraine in Affairs of Orthodox Church in this country and frequent cases of discrimination against priests and faithful of the UOC.

In the current working visit by the representative of the US state Department on international religious freedom also will visit Poland and Uzbekistan.
