In Khmelnytsky will open a factory of cable products for the automotive industry
German-Japanese mechanical engineering company, Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze (SEBN) in Khmelnytskyi creates a new enterprise for the production of automotive wiring harness for foreign automakers. It will be located in the premises of “Khmelnitsky mechanical plant”.
Opening of the first workshop production is planned in two months. By the end of this year SEBN plans to create 500 new jobs, and further the number of employees will increase to two thousand. This was reported by the press service of the Khmelnytsky oblast state administration.
Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze founded in 1897 and currently is part of the Sumitomo Group, numbering about 330 subsidiaries and branches in 33 countries in Asia, North America and Europe. In total, Sumitomo Group employs 180 thousand people.
The main office of Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze is located in new castle, UK. The company’s clients include Volkswagen, Porsche, Audi, Seat and Bentley. Enterprise SEBN is in Slovakia, Romania, Morocco and Ukraine. First opened in 2006 in the village of Ivano-Frankovsk, Ternopil region (number of employees 4,400). Starting with the manufacture of small modules, over the years the factory has developed into a manufacturer of cable networks for vehicles of the Volkswagen Golf. Branch offices located in Chernivtsi and Chertkov. Plant in Khmelnytskyi will be its fourth production site in Ukraine.
