A court in Argentina has arrested the property of ex-President Kirchner

Federal judge Claudio Bonadio arrested property eks-the President of Argentina Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, which was previously accused of fraud. It is reported by local newspaper La Nacion.

In may, an Argentine court has indicted Kirchner allegations of fraud. The former President was suspected of manipulating the Central Bank of Argentina to artificially maintain the exchange rate of the Argentine peso. Investigators believe that Kirchner ordered the Central Bank to sell dollars on the forward market at a lower price, which caused damage to the economy.

Kirchner denies the charges and regards them as politically motivated. The defendants are also former Minister of economy of Argentina and former head of the Central Bank.

Kirchner was President of Argentina from 2007 to 2015, succeeding her husband, Nestor Kirchner, who had ruled the country since 2003.
