European-Japanese space probe launched to mercury

The European-Japanese BepiColombo space probe early on Saturday morning, October 20, started to mercury. The carrier rocket Ariane 5 Bepicolombo was launched from Kourou in French Guyana.

According to specialists, the probe, whose length is 6,40 m and a weight of 4.1 tons, reaches nearest to the Sun planet in December 2025. Then he separated the two stand-alone satellites that will explore mercury from two different orbits.
