The national Council for television and radio broadcasting unscheduled check NewsOne due to Portnov

The national Council on television and radio broadcasting has appointed an unscheduled inspection NewsOne (“news 24”) to find out information about the ownership structure of the channel.

“As noted by the Chairman of the National Council, from open sources it became known that the management of the TV station was transferred to Andriy Portnov. The media also was published an interview of Andrei Portnov, who confirmed this fact”, — is spoken in published on the website of the national Council on Thursday the message. The press service noted that in accordance with the law of Ukraine “On television and radio” broadcaster within 30 days after occurrence of the bases for changes in the license must submit an application to the national Council. That time has passed, but no documents in the national Council has not acted.

“We want to find out the circumstances of the incident and act in accordance with the current legislation”, — concluded the member of the national Council Sergey Kostinsky.

As reported, Portnov received NewsOne TV channel in the office for three years.

Previously Parliament recommended that the Council impose sanctions against legal entities-the founders of the TV “112 Ukraine” and NewsOne in connection with the anti-Ukrainian activity of these channels

The Verkhovna Rada on 4 October endorsed the proposal for the application of sanctions in respect of NewsOne and TV “112 Ukraine”. According to the resolution, sanctions should be applied to OOO “Ariadna TV”, LLC “New television”, “TV Selection”, LLC “Teleradiokompaniya “112-TV”,LLC “Lider TV”, LLC “Partner TV” and “news 24”.

We also recall that in early October, the former owner of NewsOne Eugene Moore announced the sale of the channel to the Deputy of the opposition bloc Taras Kozak.
