According to the SBU, the security services of Russia has set them an assignment to “prepare the ground” to influence the presidential elections “by manipulating public opinion and Internet users”.
In addition, it is noted that “provocateurs” had to look for bloggers and active users of social networks who for a reward would be to publish political news from Russia and to attract nominees for the registration of sites in the Ukrainian segment of the Internet.
“The performers had to “spin” the news to discredit the state authorities and local self-government and to create a social networking group of supposedly Patriotic. These resources were planned publication destructive material, including calls for the violent change of the constitutional order of Ukraine and its territorial integrity”, — stated in the SBU.
