BMW Z4 reborn as a 335bhp Porsche 718 Boxster rival

BMW has unveiled its new, third generation of the Z4, with a renewed focus on driving dynamics to take on the Porsche 718 Boxster.

The new roadster, which has been developed in collaboration with Toyota’s upcoming Supra, has made its public debut in the united states at the Pebble Beach Concours d’elegance in Monterey, California, with worldwide sales due to start later this year.

The Z4 will be making its European debut at the Paris show in September, where BMW intends to reveal more about its mechanical package in front of the right-hand-drive deliveries in the united KINGDOM at the beginning of 2019. First revealed is the flagship model of the M40i M Performance of the First Edition, which uses a 335bhp turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine.

The 718 Boxster rival has been designed and built from the ground up in an effort to boost the buyer interest for the roadsters, in the face of declining sales in recent years.
