At the Postal square in Kyiv heavy rain in the night on Sunday, August 19, flooded excavations of the ancient streets of XI-XII centuries. This was reported by the Kyiv regional ethnographer and public figure Anabella Morin in his Facebook.
“Employees of the utility pumped water in the dungeon of the Postal square. Flooded excavations more than during the break the main water pipe. So very much was poured last fall. Now to the water that flows over the land, added streams, running down the walls – in the place where the water has found a passage into the time of the accident,” she wrote.
Morin also added that the drainage system and sewage on the Mail manual.
“As a flood – pumped. On the site it should not be”, – says local historian.
We will remind, in result of accident on a water supply system August 9, leakage of water filled in the transit manifold extending along the archaeological sites were overflowing drainage wells.
December 2017 halted any construction work by the Department of protection of cultural heritage KSCA, so the drainage system is not completed, and there was a water leak in the underground space.
