2018 world Cup set a record for number of goals in one world Cup

Two own goal’s were scored for the 2018 world Cup.

In the first match, Mexico and Sweden (0:3) in the 74th minute, defender of Mexicans Edson Alvarez scored in his own net. This goal was the seventh in the world championship in Russia, thereby setting a record of the world Championships.

Later, an own goal scored and the goalkeeper of the national team of Switzerland, Jan Sommer, who helped Costa Rica to equalise in the match – 2:2.

Thus, at this world championship already decorated record eight goals. The previous record was set at the 1998 world Cup, where it scored six goals in his own net.
