More than 1.5 thousand people took part in the festival of Patriotic songs the name of the Holy Admiral Ushakov

Moscow. 7 Aug. INTERFAX – V all-Russian festival of Patriotic songs, the name of St. Feodor Ushakov was held in the village Chepelevo the Yaroslavl region, in the birthplace of Admiral, said on Tuesday the official website of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The event was attended by over a thousand people.

The celebration began with a Liturgy in the Church of the Epiphany on the Island, where he was baptized by the future Admiral. The liturgical chants were performed by the choir of Holy Transfiguration Cathedral, he performed the Liturgy, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk.

Then there was a procession to the monument of the righteous warrior Feodor Ushakov and his uncle the Reverend Theodore Sanaksar. The memorial was made public prayer.

After the service, a solemn opening of the festival. On the lawn in front of the Epiphany Church was organized more than ten thematic areas, the so-called “decks”, and in the Church there was an exhibition of Antiques found on earth, where the Holy childhood of Admiral.

The festival programme also included a concert, a film screening under the open sky, a contest of literary-musical compositions, master classes of craftsmen and professional artists, competitions of youth teams, “ushakovskiy coast”, costume reconstruction, street theatrical farce big dance. For the first time, a festival of naval cuisine, where it presents a real menu destroyer “Admiral Ushakov”.
