Kiev incineration plant Energy has stopped accepting waste

Kiev incineration plant Energy has temporarily stopped accepting waste in connection with the change of the management company.

This was reported by the press service of Kyivenergo.

Inventory of solid waste (10 tons) as stated in the company, sufficient to ensure the planned work until 31 July, when the term of the agreement with Kyivenergo. On August 1, the plant passed into the control of the city authorities as the object of communal property.

The agreement between the city authorities and the company Kyivenergo the management of public assets (city heating management, CHP 5 and CHP 6, the waste-to-Energy plant) was signed in 2001. For 17 years Kyivenergo provides about 70% of the Kiev Central heating and hot water, and the whole Kiev – electricity. In addition, the company was responsible for the smooth operation of two cogeneration plants located in Kiev. Under the agreement, in the management of Kyivenergo passed and incineration plant Energy.

Now the waste-to-Energy plant is a full – fledged urban mini-plant, and Kiev is the only city in Ukraine where household waste is produced and fed into the heat network. Today, the plant processes about 25% of the volume of solid waste life of Kiev.

As reported July 21 in Cherkasy region found two trucks with the Lviv garbage.
