46-year-old man was discovered by police on the side of the (Helensvale) Road (Helensvale) Thursday afternoon with a “significant” injury to his right leg.
After receiving treatment from paramedics, the man was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition, not life threatening injuries.
A few hours after its discovery, police announced they were looking for three men in a gold or silver sedan.

The Inspector Mark Thompson said that all four men know each other and realized the shooting was a targeted attack.
“We have no information to believe that these males are a danger to any other member of the public,” Det Insp Thompson said.
“We believe that the males involved in this are all you know and this is not a random act.”
If the man was shot at the scene or somewhere else before being dumped is clear, but the police say that the group of men and the car involved were to Runaway Bay Shopping Centre Lae Drive the first part of the day.
The man was thrown near one of the Gold Coast, the largest state high schools and the students were on their way home when the crime scene has been established.
The school itself used social media to alert parents of delays due to closed roads, while the patrons and the owners in a shopping center near the scene knew nothing of the shooting until the police arrived.
“The biggest thing that we can ask, at the moment, is the public assistance,” Det Insp Thompson said.
