Patriarch Kirill draws the attention of the UN Secretary General on detrimental to mankind the consequences of the departure from traditional morality

Moscow. June 20. INTERFAX – Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill pointed to the UN Secretary-General antónio Guterres on possible catastrophic consequences of the retreat of the human race from moral norms, in particular of traditional family values.

“No laws will stop people who have lost a human face, therefore, the preservation of morality – a means to maintain peace on our planet”, – the Patriarch said on Wednesday at a meeting with A. Guterres in Moscow.

Speaking about the moral crisis, the Primate in the first place expressed concern about the crisis of the family.

“Unfortunately, today there is such a thing as an aggressive secularism, under the influence of which in many countries are deteriorating family relationships. The Russian Church is doing and will be doing everything they can to support family values. We are deeply convinced that on this depends the survival of the human race,” – said the Patriarch.
