Moscow. June 19. INTERFAX – Metropolitan of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye Kirill performed the rite of consecration of the cross on the construction site of the temple of the righteous Martyr Eugenia (Botkin, the doctor of the family of Nicholas II) and in memory of all the physicians of the Fatherland, the website of the local diocese.
The temple was founded on the site of the future medical cluster, the construction of which began in March.
The service was attended by the Archbishop of Montreal and Canada Gabriel (ROCOR) and Bishop of Nizhny Tagil and Nevyansky Eugene – the first of the bishops, he was tonsured a monk in honor of a Martyr Eugene Botkin.
The doctor of the family of Tsar Nicholas II willingly went with the Royal family into exile to Tobolsk and then to Ekaterinburg, where together with her were martyred in the night from 16 to 17 July 1918.
The decision on the canonization E. Botkin was made at the bishops ‘ Council in February 2016. The glorification among the saints was held on 7 February 2016, the day of the feast of the Synaxis of the new martyrs and Confessors of Russia at the Ekaterinburg Temple-on-Blood.
