In the premises of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate (UOC-KP) on Pushkinskaya street in Kiev two unknown men sprayed tear gas. The incident occurred on the evening of may 25, according to the website of the Patriarchate.

Representatives of the Church suspect that the “incident may be caused by the desire of certain persons or forces to aggravate the situation in society and in the Church in the expectations of the decisions of the Ecumenical Patriarch concerning publication of Tomos of autocephaly churches in Ukraine.”

The police of Kiev has confirmed that it is investigating the incident.
