Russian President Vladimir Putin compared the world situation and sanctions with the game of football according to the rules of judo. He stated at the St. Petersburg international economic forum (SPIEF-2018), according to RIA Novosti.

“The situation in the world is such that as would all play football, but apply the rules of judo. Here is an interesting game which it turns out is not really soccer, not judo — it’s just chaos. Here is where we are going and what worries us,” — said Putin.

The President also noted that the majority of those present at the plenary session of the SPIEF — defendants in the sanctions list, and stressed that “sanctions stick” now affects more and more countries.
