John Lewis has site to engaged couples and any other user of your gift list, after the service went offline over the weekend.

The visitors were presented, say, with error messages that the site was expired for the domain registration.

In some cases, they were invited to renew the lease.

To avoid, organisations in General, active web domains, an automatic extension to such problems, but John Lewis says it was a “Problem” with the renewal of its domain.

Several customers had tweeted the company attempted an explanation, and had said, in response, the user is required to staff, while the matter addressed phone.

Pinknews chief executive Benjamin Cohen was among those planning a wedding, highlighted the problem.

The WhoIs database shows that johnlewisgiftlist.com’s, expired domain registration, last Thursday, but was extended later on Sunday has a term until 2021.

“We would like to our sincerest apologies to offer to the customers who have experienced difficulties in gaining access to our gift list site,” said a spokeswoman for the company.

“There was a theme, the renewal of the domain name, which has been fixed and most of the customers to access the site – although it will update maybe a few more hours for some internet service providers.”
