The opposition urged Montenegro not to recognize the results of presidential elections

PODGORICA, 16 APR — RIA Novosti. Montenegro opposition called its candidate Mladen Bojanic, main competitor won the presidential election of Milo đukanović, not to recognize the election results, said RIA Novosti Deputy of the Assembly of Montenegro, leader of the “Democratic front” Andriy Mandic.

“Unfortunately, Djukanovic and these choices worked, as all the previous ones. Our coalition has proposed Bojnice as our candidate, not to recognize the election results. So he declared the elections stolen, falsified. I’m sure he’ll accept our offer and does not recognize the results of the election,” he said.

According to him, Bojanic is currently awaiting the assessment of the elections by the OSCE, and then will be ready to respond to the request of the opposition. As reported by Mandic, then the opposition will discuss their further actions.

The leader of the ruling Democratic party of socialists (DPS) of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic, according to preliminary data, wins the first round on last Sunday the election of the President with 53.9% of votes, said election Commission. In the night of Monday, Djukanovic has declared his victory.

Its main competitor, the economist and former Deputy of the national Assembly (Parliament), the candidate of a coalition of opposition parties “Democratic front”, “Democrats”, the Socialist people’s party and URA Mladen Bojanic receives more than 33%. He’s already promised to “continue the struggle”, and his staff said that the representatives of Bojanic in the election commissions will refuse to sign the protocols, if it considers that there has been a breach.

Djukanovic de facto in various positions headed by Montenegro since 1991, when at the age of 29 became the youngest Prime Minister in Europe.
