Radiohead album tops the indie chart

OK Computer Radiohead reissue has been named as the biggest-selling album in the stores of independent disks over the past year, according to the official Charts Company.

Its findings come ahead of Record Store Day 2018, on the 21st of April, which promotes local, independent music retailers, with special releases.

Vinyl compound of 82% of store format continues to re-surface.

A cassette of the renaissance marked a new trend, jumping to 53% throughout the year.

The popularity of OK Computer, the 20th anniversary of the re-release comes two decades after it topped the Official Albums Chart in the summer of 1997.

Featured, a Lift, an unreleased track from the original recording sessions.

The 50th anniversary of the Beatles ‘ Sgt pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band finished runner-up – suggesting that the recoverability and special editions are forces that are for the buyers.

However, Ed Sheeran chart domination in 2017 wanted his album, รท (Divide) came out as the third-best seller in the record stores, while LCD Soundsystem is acclaimed by the critique of the American Dream and Villains, Queens of the Stone Age, landed fourth and fifth spots, respectively.

The table is also a way to wind up the war of words (and egos) between the Gallagher brothers.
