Gogglebox June pens book about the life of Leon

Gogglebox star June Bernicoff has written Leon and June: Our History, to celebrate the life of her deceased husband.

“Leon often said that he would like to write our history. So now I can do for him,” said June.

Former professor Leon was with June, of 60 years and died in December after a brief illness, at the age of 83.

The Liverpool couple were the first couple to be cast in the Channel 4 show when it started in 2013.

They provide some of the best comments on the show, which helps to win a Bafta award in 2014 and several National Television Awards.

The book is going to look back on the life of the couple, who met in 1955 in the institute of teacher education. We will also touch on his struggle to get married, life in the 1960s Liverpool, and the pursuit of fame in his retirement.

June announced earlier this year that he would not return to Gogglebox following Leon’s death.

She interacts with nearly 250,000 fans on his Twitter account, which she shared with Leon.

Kelly Ellis, Editorial Director of Blink Publishing, said: “Leon and June have spent a lot of time in our living rooms and we in the of them that feel like an extended part of the family.

“Their gentle ribbing of each other in Gogglebox Lion and cheeky jokes were always the perfect tonic on a Friday night.”
