An alleged fight between two men who started the Beerwah Hotel, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, and moved out of the road, on Turner St, has seen a 20-year-old Beerwah man would have the knife by a 27-year-old Caboolture man.
A spokesman for Queensland Police said the two men were first driven out of the pub for fighting.
It seems that when the fight moved elsewhere, the 20-year-old stabbed the older man in the back with a knife.
However, the victim returned to the pub and continued to drink while the knife was still lodged in his back.
He quickly called the police and was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
The QPS spokesman said that the two men were known to each other and a man was helping the police in their investigations.
She said a “substantial” amount of alcohol was involved.
No charges have been brought to the police to continue their investigation.
