Huawei P20 phone ‘see in the dark’

Huawei is the latest smartphone can take photos in near-dark conditions without using flash or a tripod.

The P20 Pro uses the exposures with a duration of up to six seconds to get enough light.

Then, artificial intelligence uses, sharp images and avoid the users and get, as a rule, cover in connection with the employment of this technique handheld.

The Chinese company recently told the BBC that it could soon smartphone is the world’s best-selling brand.

It is currently in third place behind Samsung and Apple, to sell the U.S. Telecom networks’ refusal to use their phones proves to be an obstacle.

Such as Samsung Galaxy S9-series phones, the based recently, Huawei fixed pitch went on sale to the consumer for the P20-Per-largely on its new camera functions.

But while the South Korean company’s S9+ made the jump to the two lenses on the back, the P20 Pro features the first mainstream phone with a three.

“Huawei does not have the brand of Samsung or Apple, so it is almost had to go the extra mile in terms of the product,” said Ben Stanton, of the technology consultancy Canalys.

“And it’s nice to see that produce the guide with some of the hardware.

“But the thing with the camera technology, is that unless you are comparisons on the search side-by-side [photos], it can be very difficult to say which device is better.

“So, Huawei has cut out his work, some of the new features to sell.”

The P20 Pro costs 899 euros including tax ($1,115; £788).

That’s less than the Galaxy S9+, which costs 949 euros, and the iPhone X, which starts at 1,149 Euro.Three Lenses

The new flagship of the three rear cameras, each with different abilities.

The main sensor has an unusually high resolution of 40 megapixels.

But it is the “light fusion” software uses combine to produce the data from groups of four adjacent same-colored pixels, 10MP photos.

Huawei

The advantage is that shooting in low-light conditions should be less “loud” as a result.

“If you have a surface of a table, and 40 small bucket on the upper side, and it rained, it would get a longer period of time, an inch worth of rain in the bottom of each as it would be if you had a 10 bucket four times as large,” said marketing manager Peter Gauden.

“And that’s essentially what we do. To combine with light fusion of four smaller pixels, to a much larger pixels, and thus improve our ability to Absorption of light in the sensor.”

The system can be turned off, however, if the owner of the 40mp will snaps into place.

The other two cameras are:
a 20MP black-and-white sensor, can be used to monochrome images or provide detailed information for the background blur of the images from the main sensor
an 8-Megapixel telephoto lens offers a hardware-stabilized 3x zoom lens, which can produce 5x shots, when used in conjunction with a software-based digital zoom. This is advantageous compared to the 2x zoom of the Galaxy S9+ and iPhone X

Huawei/King Of The Jungle

The P20 Pro uses object-recognition technology for automatic adjustment of the settings of the respective object, and then catalog the images, the can do it, without sending data to the internet.

In addition, the software composition makes suggestions if they make sense – such as when setting the phone to hold it level with the horizon, or to loosen or tighten a shot.AI-improved photos

Like the Galaxy S9, S20 Pro, a super-slow mode, where up to 960 frames per second filmed with 720p “high-definition” resolution.

But it also offers the unique long-exposure trick.

In order to achieve this, Huawei says, is used to distinguish the device the ability to find objects, the optimal context for each Element in a recording.

It then takes the information from other frames to improve the definition of the individual objects, while at the same time ensuring that the edges are blurred as a result.

Finally, all Digital outwitted elements are merged together to a single photo.

As a result, a photo of the inside of a dim bar, for example, appeared at the end of the search, brighter and more detailed than it is, to the human eye.

But quirks can occur.

In a test by the BBC with a person standing in front of a dim background, the image of her face had her blinking in spite of the fact that her eyes were open for most of the six-second exposure.Selected-up threat

Huawei the gap with Apple decreased in the past year, despite coming under pressure from other Chinese technology companies, including Oppo, Xiaomi and Vivo.

To crack, however, efforts of the American market was frustrated by AT&T and Verizon out of the talks to sell its devices.

Reports suggested that the local politicians are under pressure to put the Telecom operators back on the company because of concerns that he had connections to the Chinese government.

Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s consumer products division, told the BBC that the Americans were afraid that his company was eligible for the “competition [“and”] “to be strong”.

An industry observer, who is excited about the new phone, said that was not necessarily good news for the competition.

“Huawei is throwing everything it got in Europe now, because it needed the revenue expectation that it had in the United States,” said Ben Wood of CCS Insight.

“Other smartphone makers should be seriously concerned that the threat it poses has just been elected to solve up to an order of magnitude, as it is only published, to resources and money, some of his trademark issues.”
