Beijing. March 12. INTERFAX – a Buddhist Tibetans living in the Chinese northwestern province of Qinghai, according to the Chinese President XI Jinping’s “Bodhisattva”, or living deity, said Secretary of provincial party Committee Wang Guosheng.
In Buddhism, a bodhisattva is a person who has decided to become a Buddha for the benefit of all beings.
“Ordinary people in pastoral areas say that only XI Jinping is a living Bodhisattva. This is a very impressive statement,” he said at the sidelines of the Beijing session of the national Parliament.
The population of Qinghai, which is home of the Buddhist leader the Dalai Lama, consists mainly of Tibetans.
