A certain statuette of gold has dominated the last week of news… here is the lowdown on the Oscars in case you missed them, as well as some of the other stories from the past seven days.

He went to the Oscars for the first time in four decades – but before it does so, Star Wars Mark Hamill has said that he prefers to be at home watching the ceremony in his pajamas.

Hamill – AKA Luke Skywalker – last attended in 1978, when Star Wars: A New Hope was the best photo.

But then, a man has been arrested on suspicion of theft of Frances McDormand of the golden statuette.

Terry Bryant was arrested for grand theft after the statuette has gone to the Governor’s Ball, and later pleaded not guilty.
