The coordinator of the German government on transatlantic cooperation, jürgen Hardt told reporters that the European Union should develop a unified line of response to the planned increase in import duties on steel and aluminum in the United States.

Speaking with representatives from several publications after his visit to Washington, Hardt, a member of the Christian democratic Union, said that the escalation of the conflict with the United States is not in the interests of the EU and Europe should adhere to the “order based on the rules.”
