The U.S. Embassy in Ankara on Monday suspended its work
The Turkish authorities have detained four Iraqi citizens in connection with the threat to the security of the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, Turkish media reported.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Embassy said that on Monday it will be closed due to “security threat”.
“The Embassy will announce the opening as soon as it will resume its work”, â€“ reported on the website of the Embassy. Located in Turkey, Americans are advised “not to attract attention”.
According to Turkish media, four Iraqis allegedly linked to “Islamic state”, was detained in the province of Samsun on the black sea coast.
In 2013, a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device at the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, killing who was on duty security guard. Responsibility for the attack was laid on the local leftist movement.
In 2015 and 2016 in Turkey, there were several attacks linked to Islamic state. January 1, 2017, the armed man was attacked in a nightclub while celebrating New year by shooting a 39.
