2018 Peugeot 508: full-styling-leaks ahead of Geneva debut

Peugeot, the new 508 flagship sedan will get front and rear styling inspired by the instinct concept of the last year. The new car design has been shown, in a suite of new pictures Geneva motor show have leaked ahead of its official reveal next month.

Full front, rear and interior styling of the new sedan is plays shown in the pictures, as well as highlights of the tech available in the French brand’s next flagship. Design elements from the instinct-concept is also at the front, including the stylistic daytime running lights extending to the bottom of the headlight Cluster. The leaked images were shown on a Croatian Youtube channel.

The images also show that the model has been spotted testing on multiple occasions and is due to go on sale in the UK in November of this year, reserve your Limousine body style, with a short trunk lid with integrated spoiler lip on the completion of a sweeping line from the top of the car roof. The original leak shows the rear of the Peugeot fan site Peugeot Héritage, the images show that the Auto function is a stylistic, rear light bar, as is the case with the Peugeot falls to 2017-concept.

The Auto-gain-Peugeot i-Cockpit system, with a digital dashboard replaced the traditional dials and a large Central touch-screen infotainment system, under precedent to a de-cluttered dashboard. A record shows also, camera-based obstacle detection technology, which is likely to be associated with the vehicle’s automatic emergency braking system.

Engines are to be expected, together with larger, Peugeot models, the brand’s BlueHDi engine is 1.6 and 2.0-Liter iterations, is a 1.6-Liter THP petrol engine with 165bhp. The leak confirms that an automatic transmission, probably PSA 6-speed EAT6 unit be available. It is not yet known whether a manual version will be offered. The 508 GT branding on the car license plate confirmed that the images show a range-topping-warmed-up-model.

A Peugeot 5008 plug-in hybrid is expected to be towards the end of the year, so it is likely that the 508 will use the same powertrain for a top model, the electrified model. The current 508 starts at £25,340; a small increase in price is probably for the new sedan.

A Citroën saloon, return, in the year 2019 after the C5 was removed in 2016, will likely have bases share it with the 508.
