The mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko instructed to consider the e-petition about the demolition of the illegal chapel of the UOC-MP near the Foundation of the tithe Church on the territory of national Museum of history of Ukraine in Central Kiev. This was reported on the website of the KSCA.
E-petition received the required number of votes – 10 of 584 with a minimum of 10 thousand
Thus, Klitschko instructed the standing Committee of Kyiv city Council on issues of urban planning, architecture and land use, as well as the profile Deputy Chairman of the KSCA and the Executive body of Kyiv city Council to consider e-petition in the prescribed manner.
The author of the statement Vyacheslav Talpiga notes that the land on which the illegally built structure-the chapel of the UOC-MP, refers to the most valuable lands of historical and cultural significance.
In addition, according to the initiator, the area is a historical monument of national and local significance.
As reported, on 25 January, the nationalists organisations “-14”, “Tradition” and “Falcon” were removed the information Board of the chapel of the UOC-MP in the center of Kiev.
On 28 January, the Shevchenkivsky district court of Kiev arrested for 2 months with the alternative of making a Deposit in the amount of UAH 2.2 million of the two architects, suspected of attempting to set fire to the chapel-the squatter of the UOC-MP. According to the detainees, they tried to draw attention to the fact that the territory of the National Museum of history captured Moscow churchmen. The court dismissed the architects on bail of people’s deputies.
On 6 February, the Ministry of culture stated that the chapel of the UOC-MP is illegal and belongs to the National Museum of history of Ukraine.
