The head of Samsung was released, received a suspended sentence

Vice-President and actual head of the South Korean Corporation Samsung Electronics Lee Jae-Yong released on Monday after the court of appeal gave him a suspended sentence, removing the greater part of the accusations of bribery and corruption, which last year led to the impeachment of former South Korean President Park Geun-Hye.

According to the Agency Yonhap, Lee Jae-Yong was sentenced to two-and-a-half-year suspended sentence with a reprieve of four years.

Fifty-year-old Lee Jae-Yong was arrested on 17 February 2017 on five charges, including involvement in the provision of 6.38 million dollars as a bribe for training horse riding daughter of a close personal friend of ex-President Park Geun-Hye.

The Prosecutor asked to sentence Lee Jae-Yong to 12 years in prison. The businessman did not admit any fault.
