Religious leaders of Azerbaijan before the presidential elections in sermons will speak about Aliyev

Baku. 14 Feb. INTERFAX – the Religious leaders of Azerbaijan urged to support the candidacy of President Ilham Aliyev in the upcoming presidential elections.

“We support the initiative about the nomination of Ilham Aliyev. In particular, religious leaders in their sermons should convey truth to believers, not avoiding anything. We need to pitch in to make it right and not to stay aside,” – said the head of Caucasus Muslims Allahshukur Pasha-zade on Wednesday at a meeting of the CBM on the upcoming presidential elections.

He also noted that Ilham Aliyev’s attention to religion and believers “has always been high,” and recalled that after Azerbaijan gained its independence, the country built a large number of mosques and reconstructed.

“It (presidential elections – Interfax) is a crucial question, and we would like to Express their attitude to it,” he added.

Following the meeting, the religious leaders of Azerbaijan signed an appeal to support the candidacy of Ilham Aliyev. The document was signed by A. Pashazade, Archbishop of Baku and Azerbaijan Alexander, the head of the religious community of mountain Jews, Milikh evdev, Catholic Bishop Vladimir Fekete, head of the Albanian-Udin Christian community Robert Mobili.
