At the meeting in the “Memorial” Kathleen Kavalec expressed condolences on the recent passing of Arseny Roginsky, the head of this organization
In Russia, is visiting Deputy assistant Secretary of state Kathleen Kavalec. The purpose of the visit, reports the press service of the U.S. Embassy in Moscow meetings with representatives of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Russian non-governmental organizations and businesses, including the American chamber of Commerce and the International historical-educational, charitable and human rights society “memorial”.
In this case, scheduled for Friday lecture Kathleen Kavalec about relations between the U.S. and Russia at the American center were canceled in connection with the situation due to the expiration of the February 9, 2018 term funding for most Federal agencies of the United States.
In the “Memorial” state Department spokesman expressed his condolences in connection with the death of Arseny Roginsky – one of the founders and longtime leader of the organization. She pointed out the importance and integrity of the work of “Memorial”.
Kathleen Kavalec works in current position since August, 2015. She is responsible for the issues related to Russia as well as for regional issues. Kawalek has experience at UNESCO, as well as in Ukraine, Romania and Brazil.
