Bangkok. 8 Feb. INTERFAX – AT the request of the Russian Ambassador in Thailand Kirill Barsky, the representative of the Russian Orthodox Church in this country, Archimandrite Oleg (Cherepanin) has ordered to provide immediate financial assistance of 20 students from Yakutia, who came to participate in the international cultural festival and late on the back of the plane to Russia.
The agreed decision of the Church’s mission and the Foundation of the Orthodox Church in Thailand provides for the allocation of funds according to actual needs with the obligatory 100% payment following: accommodation for groups of children in one of the hotels in Bangkok (3-star); all meals (Breakfast, lunch and dinner); “a pocket” expenses of students at the rate of 200 baht per person per day; leisure activities (payment of tickets to visit historical and architectural monuments, children’s entertainment attractions, etc.); transportation costs, reports the website of the diocese.
Archimandrite Oleg also asked the Thai police to provide police escort a group of Russian students when they move to Bangkok in order to the safety of children.
“Believers were sympathetic to the solution of immediate assistance to children, making donations to temples and donating to the Fund for these purposes just one day, more than 100 thousand baht. In the case of a surplus of collected funds to help this group of kids the rest will be spent on charitable purposes”, – is spoken in the message.
However, the representation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Thailand urged the Embassy of the Russian Federation to take steps to establish the causes and perpetrators, due to which the group of minors of 13-14 years were in the same situation.
