Chris Hemsworth, ‘open’ Crocodile Dundee reform


Chris Hemsworth stars in a fake trailer for a new film Crocodile Dundee, but he says that he would have to make a real.

The ad for the Tourism Australia also features Danny McBride and released during the coveted commercial break in the Super Bowl.

But the new announcement left fans wanting more of a holiday – as the talk soon began of a possible remake of the film.

Speaking to Newsbeat, Chris said: “If we could find the story and the script, we could do it.”

Seen more than two million times, the fans have been saying that it looks more like Hollywood box-office travel ad.

“The response has been quite incredible,” the actor of Thor, ” he said.

“I had a lot of anxiety beforehand. The Super Bowl commercial scene is a pretty critical environment, so I am grateful to the people she loved,” he said.

The prized slot has previously featured mega ads from brands like Pepsi, Amazon, and Marvel, and companies pay millions of pounds for a place there.

Although he was shocked by the initial reaction to the announcement, he told us that he can’t pretend to do a remake does not cross his mind.

“During the filming, Danny McBride and I talked about whether it might be a movie.

“We began to worry that if this commercial is as good as the one that awaits us is going to be, people are going to be disappointed, we’re going to have to make a movie.

“But I had so much fun making this commercial, I would be open to discussions about it,” he said.

He told us how the original 1986 movie was a big part of your childhood.

In the film, the character of Mick Dundee swaps in the interior of Australia to jungle of New York after the meeting of an American journalist who eventually falls in love with him.

“I had seen several times growing up and I think that, like most people, I loved the sense of humor and sense of adventure that it embodies.

The ad also features a brief cameo from the original Crocodile Dundee Paul Hogan.

But Chris says that he was shot on separate days, so that I cannot find.

“I met him a couple of years ago, I bought a house that ended up being your home.

“I had no idea when I was looking through the kitchen and came out and it was like ‘g’day mate’,” he said.

There is another Australian, who could be a rival to the new Crocodile Dundee, the actress Rebel Wilson.

She says she asked him about the rights to the film last year and I was told that the role could not be played by a woman.

But Chris did not agree.

“She was going to be better than me, she can sing too, so we can do a musical version,” he said.

“My little brother, just worked with her recently and she said that she was fantastic.”
