Moscow. 1 Feb. INTERFAX – Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated on Thursday the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill on the ninth anniversary of his enthronement, the press Secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov.
“Today it will work in Rostov-on-don. Before that in the temple of Christ the Savior to congratulate Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia,” said Dmitry Peskov on Thursday.
He noted that the President and the Patriarch have been in regular contact.
The enthronement of Patriarch Kirill was made on 1 February 2009 at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. A few days earlier, on January 27, he was elected to the local Council to the Moscow Patriarchal throne.
The enthronement, or nastilanie, – the solemn rite, during which is performed the construction of the head of the Church on his pulpit. The enthronement takes place during the Liturgy, the vestments of the newly elected Primate in clothes according to Sana and Pasadena his two oldest bishops to the Patriarchal throne in the altar of the Cathedral.
