Moscow. 2 Feb. INTERFAX – Secretary General of Conference of Catholic bishops of Russia, priest Igor Kovalevsky suggested that the Greek-Catholic Church of Ukraine is open to dialogue with the Russian Orthodox Church.
“I can assure you from my personal observations, that the part of the Greek-Catholic Church is the good will to dialogue”, – said the priest on Friday at a press conference in Moscow.
In his opinion, the Havana meeting between Patriarch Kirill and Pope Francis has stimulated the Orthodox-Catholic dialogue in Ukraine, in particular the dialogue between the Greek Catholic and Orthodox churches.
He recalled that the issue of Greek-Catholics has always been a stumbling stone in relations between the two churches, noting, however, that the Uniates “of the Catholic Church, which also can lead the dialogue.”
