On the eve of the pancake week festival will acquaint Muscovites with the recipes of traditional cuisine of the Orthodox countries

Moscow. 31 Jan. INTERFAX – Culinary secrets to share in Moscow from 5 to 11 February, on the eve of carnival, the representatives of Russia, Greece, Serbia, Romania and Belarus, said on Wednesday the Department for relations between Church and society and the media.

XI international Orthodox festival “Artos. Culinary traditions” will be held in Sokolniki exhibition and Convention centre “Sokolniki” and will bring together more than 200 participants. It offers cooking classes, concerts, film screenings, book presentations and meetings with priests. Forgotten recipes of traditional cuisine representatives share Greek, Romanian, Serbian Diaspora and Tatar Orthodox community.

Daily will be open to visitors of fairs and cultural areas that return the atmosphere of traditional folk festivals that preceded lent.

Each of the guests of the festival will be able to try themselves in culinary arts. In addition to educational programs, the festival will present one of the largest fairs of the capital are Orthodox parishes, farmers and the monastic economy. Here you can find organic food, homemade cheeses, honey, bread, pastries, pickles, spices and more. Also during all days of the festival grounds, guests can visit the national food court and try the traditional Russian, Serbian and Georgian dishes.
