1. Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Mercedes-Benz sets out to make a new S-Class, the intent is to make the best car in the world. While it might not seduce like a Jaguar XJ, which is not what that is.

This machine does what it’s supposed to do superbly and it is functionally exceptional. It has been designed as a long-wheelbase sedan, giving unprecedented torsional stiffness, and the ride is helped by the standard air suspension with adaptive shock absorbers.

There is a choice of three petrol and one diesel engine, with the standard car sing a 9G-Tonic Plus nine-speed automatic‘.

The S-Class is designed to happen quietly, couldn’t drive better, and it is addressed directly and with precision.

The interior is spacious and is of great comfort, and festoons of the technology, including a 12.3 screen and the Mercedes Comand Online system as standard.

As a guide comfortable, the challenges of the calibre of Rolls-Royce and Bentley Mulsanne. Where the S-Class, the door, the rest of the car-making world follows.

2. Range Rover

The latest Range Rover, the fourth generation of the model, is as revolutionary as any in history, with a new aluminium monocoque and shamelessly luxury focus: it is a luxurious car and a 4×4 second.

The spacious interior exudes quality and luxury, the seats are excellent and the driving position is first-quality, which makes it easy to drive for its size. The rain shell offers excellent isolation from rough surfaces and it’s true, we do not provide driving engagement of a Porsche Cayenne, it is easy to make nice, rapid progress.

The weight of the car is a small price to pay for a car of its incredible ability.

3. Tesla Model S

The first creation on measure, the electrical car pioneer Elon Musk of the company, the Model S is the car that has brought the credibility, luxury and useful range for the electric car market.

There are four battery options, surmounted by a 100kWh pack with a credible 393-mile range from the 415bhp electric motor. You can take off with the ferocity of a super sedan, but the most wonderful is the precise way and without effort, you can be an instrument of his peace.

The Model S offers a huge credible steer, a large, quiet, premium cabin and massive load space, with a futuristic feel. For a selection of niche, it will make financial as well as reduce the environmental impact.

4. Audi A8

The latest A8 the more advanced features of the chassis, the transmission and the car technology of the Mercedes S-Class, even when it is powered on, the largest independent capacity to guide any production car in the world.

There is a choice of turbo engines – a 282bhp diesel, or 335bhp petrol with four-wheel drive and a 48V electrical system, which gives you a lightweight hybrid state.

The quality of the interior feels as if it had been built to last longer than civilization itself, although it lacks the elegance of the S-Class. The ride is smooth and easy to drive, even if you do not submit to be pushed rather than rages.

5. BMW 7-Series

Since its launch in 1977, the 7 Series has been in the shadow of the Mercedes S-Class, but this latest version is BMW’s most dedicated attempt yet to completely break the luxury sedan market, combining adaptive air sprung chassis and pioneering infotainment and convenience features with a choice of two wheelbase lengths and with rear or four-wheel drive.

The coating on the inside evokes a sense of space, integrity and usability, even if the band is a little too similar to other Bmw’s. The motors are silent, powerful and efficient, and the management is more ready and accurate than competitors – even if the ride is not.

A surprisingly good car, then, but falls behind rivals in the luxury stakes.

6. Jaguar XJ

There was a Jaguar XJ at the top of the company, the beauty range from 1968, and the latest version is secure, forward-looking expression of the firm’s rebirth.

The sportiness mentioned by those elegant lines are enhanced by the excellent chassis and handling. The XJ’s cabin offers a sense of class and drama German rivals manage to collect, even if you do not compete in terms of pure quality, and paths in terms of internal tech.

But the XJ is defined as a unit, somewhere between the sportiness of a Maserati Quattroporte, and the coolness of a Mercedes S-Class. The result is a car with a rare balance and decent performance, without too many compromises.

7. BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo

A large, five-door, the 5 Series GT, the replacement is an interesting, if quirky, choice of luxury motor.

6-Series GT has the same wheelbase as the 7 Series and, despite the reduction in the roof, maintains the high seat position of the 5-Series GT. The inside feels cozy and designed with plenty of room for four.

The 300bhp engine with confidence it transmits the power through the all-wheel-drive system, even if you have to rev to feel the six-cylinder engine. Add a strong lap and, while it may not be as elegant as an Aston Martin, is exceptionally roomy and qualifies as a true GT.

8. Lexus LS

The LS has always been a choice of the niche in the UK, but its success elsewhere means this latest version do not try to change too much.

You have a revision style, and the interior feels modern and luxurious, with four trim levels and offers a lot of equipment.

Dynamically, it is less convincing: 3.5-liter hybrid V6 is a work too hard to cope with the car 2420kg weight, and it is pleasant, rather than entertainment, of chaos, even if the ride is good.

Against the last of the S Class, 7 Series and A8, it struggles to compete.

9. Maserati Quattroporte

With a longer wheelbase, the latest Quattroporte is now a full-size executive limousine, and taking aim at the Jaguar XJ (a combination of a high level of comfort with driving.

Comes with a lot of kit, and the interior is a class above his fellow stable – even if a step behind the German class benchmarks in terms of quality and space.

The Maserati flair helps, but it is not a match for its rivals in several key areas.

10. Hyundai Genesis

Hyundai is always going to be a hard sell in the luxury class, and the Genesis is expected to sold in small quantities in the UNITED kingdom.

The Genesis has an interior better than any Hyundai before it, with a good fit and finish, and equipment levels that appeals to you the most prestigious German rivals.

Europe has a 3.8-litre engine, pushed even if an eight-speed gearbox. The ride is smooth, but the peel is tough – it is not particularly rewarding. It is an ambitious car from Hyundai, but it is out of his depth in this class.
