WASHINGTON, 7 Feb â€” RIA Novosti. The Russian Embassy in the United States of America thanked the state Department for prompt assistance in a situation with two flights of “Aeroflot”, who are detained due to weather conditions in new York and Washington.
“To speed up sending flights of “Aeroflot” detained due to a snow storm, the Embassy requested the assistance of the US state Department. We thank our colleagues for their willingness to help and quick assistance”, â€” stated in the message of the Embassy on Twitter.
Prior to that, Russia’s Ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov reported that the situation of detainees returning to normal flight, the aircraft ready to fly.
Liners “Aeroflot” was not able to depart on time, as the company SwissPort serving the flights at the airport in Washington, refused to provide services to Russian carrier. This was due to the traffic jams caused by adverse weather conditions in new York and Washington.
Affected customers with tickets for flights under code SU (direct and transfer flights) and the departure date for the fourth, fifth and sixth of January let free to change it to the eighth of January, inclusive, including connecting flights with other airlines to new York or out of it.
“Aeroflot” has informed that flights SU533 (formerly as 123) and SU539 (formerly as SU103), detained on weather conditions, expected on 6 January at 13:30 and 14:30 local time (21:30 and 22:30 GMT).
