The US President believes that the Senator misrepresented his words
U.S. President Donald trump has accused democratic Senator dick Durbin that he disrupted talks aimed at providing assistance to immigrants who illegally came to the U.S. when they were children, adding that the Senator misrepresented his comments about Haiti and African countries.
“Senator Dickie Durbin has completely distorted what was said at the meeting, which discussed DACA,” said trump in his Twitter, referring to the Program of deferred action for immigrant children (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals – DACA), which provided legal protection for young immigrants known as “Dreamers.”
Durbin said that trump used the term “s…hole” when talking about Haiti and African countries at a meeting in the White house on immigration policy last week.
“Without trust, there can be no deal! Durbin broke DACA and harms our military,” added trump.
In Chicago, Durbin has not retracted his statements concerning the spoken words by the President at the meeting. Donald trump is under fire in the U.S. and abroad, regarding the words which he supposedly said at the meeting with the senators.
“I know what happened. I am ready to answer for every word that I uttered,” said Durbin Monday.
“As for this meeting, I focused on one thing: not at the meeting, and that those who are protected under DACA … had a future in America.”
