Gary Oldman walking towards the Oscars continued with another best actor prize for playing Winston Churchill.
The British Critics ‘ Choice award for the darkest Hour, follows the Golden Globe he won last weekend and the Bafta nomination, he received on Tuesday.
Globe winner Guillermo del Toro, was on site to look for a best director award for the Shape of The Water, which won best film at the Santa Monica event.
But James Franco was not there to take the best actor in a comedy award.
A number of women have accused the Disaster of the star Artist of the sexual misconduct or inappropriate behavior since her appearance at the Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday.
Franco said earlier applications made on Twitter this week were “not accurate.” His lawyer also told the Times that the actor denies the allegations.
Frances McDormand was also not present to collect her best actress award for the Three display Panels to the Outside of Decline, Missouri, which has also received an award for best acting ensemble.
The Critics ‘ Choice awards also emulated the Golden Globes ceremony, giving the flat price in Big Little Lies, The Handmaid’s tale and Ewan McGregor for Fargo.
After the star wore black to the ceremony of the Golden Globes, most have opted for a touch of color instead of this during the ceremony – perhaps most notably Nicole Kidman, who won the best actress award for Big Little Lies and chose a bright pink dress with ruffles.

The treatment of women in Hollywood dominated the agenda of the meeting Thursday, where Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot has received a special award.
“In the past weeks and months, we have witnessed a movement in our industry and society and I want to share this award with all the women and men who stand up for what is right,” said the Israeli actress.
“My promise and commitment of all, is that I can never be silenced and we will continue to band together to make progress union for equality.”
Wonder Woman was named best action film at the ceremony, something Gadot celebrated on his own Twitter account.

Del Toro’s success in the best director category came at the expense of Lady Bird writer-director Greta Gerwig, who had also been the winners.
Yet Gerwig still had reason to celebrate Thursday, after having been named as one of five filmmakers for the Directors Guild of America award for best director.
The darkest Hour, which sees Oldman playing Churchill in the early days of his first prime ministership, is out in the UK and Ireland on Friday.
