The international Olympic Committee (IOC) on January 20 at the meeting shall determine the details of participation of Korea in the winter Olympics in South Korea. It is reported by DW with reference to the IOC.
The meeting will be held in Lausanne, it will be chaired by the President of Committee Thomas Bach, and will be attended by representatives of the Olympic organizing Committee and government delegations of the DPRK and South Korea.
At this time it is planned to define details of North Korea’s participation in the Olympic winter games held in South Korean Pyeongchang from 9 to 25 February.
To the IOC with a positive attitude to the reached on the eve of the agreement between representatives of the two countries for the participation of the DPRK.
“Now the IOC should take the decision to make this political commitment a reality,” said Bach.

Earlier it was reported that North Korea announced its intention to participate in the winter Olympics in South Korea’s Pyeongchang.
Previously, Kim Jong-UN announced plans to send a delegation of the DPRK Olympic games.
He stated the need for North and South Korea to solve problems between themselves without assistance.
“We are ready to take the necessary steps for this purpose, including to send our delegation to the Olympics in South Korea. And for this the authorities of North and South Korea would meet urgently”, – said the leader of the DPRK.
“It’s time for the North and the South to sit down, by yourself, seriously and openly discuss the improvement of inter-Korean relations,” said Kim Jong-UN.
Earlier, the leader of North Korea Kim Jong UN said that the country is going to send his national team to the winter Olympic games in February in South Korea’s Pyeongchang. Also, Kim Jong-UN stressed the need to improve relations with South Korea. In turn, the official in Seoul suggested the DPRK to hold high-level talks.
Later, the DPRK for the first time in two years resumed a special telephone hotline with South Korea at Panmunjom border crossing.
