Weight Watchers shares have been obtained after the appointment of DJ Khaled, as their new social ambassador.
The American music producer will be documenting his weight loss in their social media channels.
Khaled Mohamed Khaled, better known as DJ Khaled, wrote on twitter that “lose 20 pounds and ready for more.”
The 42-year-old platinum-selling artist has a great presence in social media, including almost 9 million Instagram followers.
“To be great is to be healthy; to be healthy means a change in my lifestyle, and the new WW Freestyle program is all about healthier habits to my life,” DJ Khaled said.

Mindy Grossman, weight Watchers’ chief executive, said: “By capturing and sharing your process, that will encourage and inspire your community, demonstrating that it is possible to integrate healthy habits into your life.”
Speaking to the Edition in the Afternoon on BBC 5 Live, independent registered nutritionist Mel Blackman said: “He’s going to call the attention of all sorts of different social groups, both girls and young men, admiring him and wanting to be like him.
“Traditionally, the diet has always been aimed at females, but with more anxiety about our personal appearance I think it’s quite opportunistic goal of bringing on board”, he added.
Oprah Winfrey, the former talk show host that appears in the Weight Watchers ads, twitter your support for DJ Khaled’s appointment, saying: “I can not wait to see you #blessup for this program”.

Ms Winfrey bought a 10% stake in Weight Watchers in 2015 when the shares of the company were traded at around $7. It closed 8% higher at $47.83 in New York on Tuesday.
In November, the company reported better than expected profits and raised its outlook after reporting continued growth in subscriptions.
About 1.1 million members attend to some 32,000 of the Weight Watchers meetings worldwide each week.
The financial terms of the deal with DJ Khaled were not disclosed.
