2017 set a record for air travel security

The President of the United States Donald trump wrote that it is to his credit

Analytical website Aviation Safety Network (ASN) collects information about the safety of air transportation, concluded that 2017 was the safest year in the history of commercial aviation.

Last year the world has seen 10 aviation accidents and disasters that led to fatal consequences, which killed 44 people aboard the aircraft, and 35 people were on the ground. For comparison, in 2016, there were 16 accidents and 303 of the victims.

The President of the United States Donald trump wrote on Twitter that this positive result should be considered his merit: “Since coming into this office, I was very strict with Commercial Aviation. Good news – just announced that in 2017 were ZERO deaths is the best and the safest year in history.”

Donald trump for the first year of his presidency has not signed any decree associated with aviation, and his only large-scale legislative initiative in this area – on the privatization of air traffic control services – are stuck in Congress.

Since February 2009 passenger planes U.S. airlines had no accidents that led to casualties.
