Patriarch of Georgia will not be able to arrive in Moscow for the celebrations on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the Russian Patriarchate

Tbilisi. 24 Nov. INTERFAX – Catholicos-Patriarch of all Georgia Ilia II on the recommendation of the doctors will not be able to arrive in Moscow on 4 December for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the restoration Institute of the Russian Patriarchate, reported on Friday by Georgian mass media with reference to the Patriarchate of Georgia.

Earlier Patriarch Elijah accepted the invitation of Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill, transmitted by the Chairman of the Department for external Church relations Metropolitan Hilarion. The Patriarch promised to arrive to Moscow, if my health will allow.

As reported to journalists by the Secretary of the Patriarch Archpriest Michael Botkoveli at this event will be presented by the delegation of the Georgian Orthodox Church. In particular, Moscow sent three bishops. They will depart on 1 December.

The Secretary of the Patriarch noted that Ilia II feels OK, but it was recommended due to frost in Moscow not to make the trip.
