MOSCOW, Nov 19 — RIA Novosti. In Paris at the age of 77 from heart failure died a well-known fashion designer of Tunisian origin Azzedin Alaya, reported by Le Point.

In the 1950s Azzedin moved from Tunisia to France where he began his career as an assistant in the house of Christian Dior, but soon was fired from there. After that, he collaborated with Guy Laroche and Thierry Mugler. The first own collection alaïa introduced in the late 1960-ies, and his fashion house was founded in 1980. In 1983, opening the first boutiques in the United States.

In 1984, Azzedine alaïa, after the presentation of his first collection of pret-a-Porte, received the award of Ministry of culture of France as designer of the year. Clothes designer worn by Michelle Obama, Madonna, Naomi Campbell, Marion Cotillard and other celebrities.
