In the 1950s Azzedin moved from Tunisia to France where he began his career as an assistant in the house of Christian Dior, but soon was fired from there. After that, he collaborated with Guy Laroche and Thierry Mugler. The first own collection alaÃ¯a introduced in the late 1960-ies, and his fashion house was founded in 1980. In 1983, opening the first boutiques in the United States.
In 1984, Azzedine alaÃ¯a, after the presentation of his first collection of pret-a-Porte, received the award of Ministry of culture of France as designer of the year. Clothes designer worn by Michelle Obama, Madonna, Naomi Campbell, Marion Cotillard and other celebrities.
