Washington city authorities are considering the issue of renaming streets in honor of murdered Russian politician
According to the American media, the Metropolitan municipality is considering a proposal to rename one of the streets of Washington – the same Embassy of the Russian Federation in the United States. If the initiative is approved, then a part of Wisconsin Avenue will now be called “Boris Nemtsov Plaza” in honor of the Russian opposition leader, shot dead in Moscow in 2015.
“Man became the victim of an assassination attempt; he fought for democracy in Russia, and he’s a hero, says Mary Che, representing this district in the municipality and made the proposal to rename. – But in Russia it is, of course, a hero is not considered.”
